Back to step one!
It is this time of the year; you have made the decision to analyze, study, and validate where you are at. All this in order to better plan 2024.
Where do you start? The first rule I give to my One on Ones is that it is not a speedy two-hour process. Rather, over a period of a week or more, plan multiple sessions when you will analyze why you want to reach your new goals. Be it climbing Mount Everest or succeeding in Real Estate, knowing your true WHY, defining and understanding your true motivation is primordial. Otherwise, achieving success becomes arduous if not impossible.
This first part is not to be overlooked as it is what enables you to go from “I don’t have a choice” to “I desire, I want, I will”. Please realize that working by obligation is easy as you will always do what must be done in order to survive, even though it comes with frustration and dissatisfaction, as you are only surviving. Why did you choose Real Estate? Why did you decide to achieve …? Remember these thoughts.
If there is one lesson to retain from the year 2023, it is that whatever problems you have, it’s not the market or the buyers or the sellers. The problem if there is one … is you!
The second rule is to know your starting point; the Thought of the Week, year 13, 49th edition, provided many great questions to start this specific process. Who, what, where, when, why! Where does your business come from, what will you do more, differently, better, etc.? As well, this process includes studying and better understanding your market. You do realize that we are already experiencing at the same time a seller’s market and a buyer’s market, sometimes in close proximity to each other. This, of course, impacts price, both asking and selling.
Are you strong enough (competent enough) to strategically position your services so as to benefit from supply and demand conditions? Are you able to express yourself professionally and obtain the right price as well as the signature?
The third rule is to plan actually 2024; this means really understanding how you will reach your goals. It is not simply about choosing numbers but understanding how and where the transactions will come from.
One of the biggest handicap seen today is fatigue and burnout; both personal and professional. The only remedy for these is a solid timeline. Understanding how to set up a working and functional schedule. Days off, rest periods, work schedule are all part of your success factors.
On January 22nd and 23rd, OSE Coaching will hold its 14th BOOT CAMP. One of the most important topics will be: learning again how to form an opinion of market value; how to assess a property in the current market, and especially how to convince both the buyer and the seller of the fair market value. You won’t want to miss this.
As well, key approaches; words and sentences will be shared, enabling you to convince and conclude powerfully with your clients.
