Stop running in circles!
Do you get the feeling that you are going in circles? That you are always running; with little success or lots of success at a crazy and never ending pace. You ask yourself, when will it end, when do I breathe, relax, enjoy etc. Real Estate… this crazy profession… or is it really about looking at it from a different perspective.
Traditional teaching of Real Estate is based on 24/7 availability and the idea of listing anything at any price, or almost. This concept is such that many sellers actually shop (select) their broker solely based on price. The higher your estimate, the more chance you have of getting the listing. Isn't it time to forego this ridiculous and greatly misleading notion?
Rule #1: You are a professional (or on your way to become one); this means that you dedicate a specific amount of time each week to study and know your market.
Rule #2: Create a Business Plan that will enable you to acquire the necessary skills as well as set up a schedule that is functional and profitable.
Rule #3: Follow your Plan, this means that you are in action at the opportune time (you follow your schedule).
Rule #4: See yourself as a professional; provide professional opinions. Speak with principle and conviction. Realize that your job consists of convincing people of what they truly need.
Rule #5: Commit to a training or coaching program in order to improve your skills.
It is a fact that consumers today are better advised and more educated. When it is time to list their home, many will nevertheless select their price as if they were selecting lottery numbers. This crazy phenomena would be understandable except for the fact that most brokers actually buy these lottery tickets. They accept to list at unrealistic prices and very often with unreasonable conditions. It is as if a doctor would give you a medical diagnostic based on what you wanted to hear as opposed to your actual health condition.
Stop running, establish a guideline. Do your job professionally. Provide a professional opinion. Develop strength of character and self-confidence in order to succeed at the highest level.
